Driving in Europe

The main reason for the development of DriverAbroad.com was the lack of a single resource providing all the driving advice and information you’ll need to plan a self drive trip Abroad .The information provided on the site was gathered via research initially in 2011/12 and though I try and keep it updated as much as possible, its not my full time job, and in a rapidly changing world, situations will change meaning info provided may be out of date. Therefore please use the site as an approximate guide, and in conjunction with other resources in order to form your view on driving conditions, roads etc. –

The links below provide driving and car rental information for all the countries in Europe. Obviously Europe is a huge geographical area, stretching from the East of Russia to Ireland’s West Coast, it literally covers half the world! Not surprising then that you’ll encounter a wide range of road conditions and driving styles and standards, not to mention different languages and even different alphabets and lettering on road signs.

Europe is a fantastic destination for a multi country road trip and I’ve tried where possible on the individual countries pages to provide info on taking cars across international borders, and travel times and mileage between Cities in neighbouring countries.
